As a human race, it’s customary for us to want more in life but as oppose to working for it, we bitch and complain about why we don’t have it and/or who is holding us back. Most individuals don’t even realize that they are fucking themselves over by chillin all the time. Everybody wants to chill and have fun, in which we feel there is nothing wrong with that, but there is if your dreams are still dreams. Why waste the ONLY life you get on doing shit you don’t want to do and being something that you’re not? Why work a job you despise? Why date someone you hate OR who hates you? Why smash someone with a trash sex game? Why be mad because people don’t like you when there is somebody in the world that you don’t like? Get over your fucking self if you think you can spend another day wasting time on bullshit. Every human being has to make a choice in life. You can live your life, or you can allow others to live in your life and ruin it because you are trying to please them. Wherever you’re at in life right now, if you are happy, keep up the good work! If you want your life to change because you are not happy with it, stop being a bitch ass nigga and take control of your life! Five years from now, you can other hate yourself for being a bitch or you can love yourself for being a real nigga and attaining exactly what you want! Make sure you always pray, keep God first, keep family second, keep money third, and keep hoes in the hoe house, not yo house! #iDOnotCARE
Such a dope line up that Manny Garavito put together for the “New York to Miami” comedy show held at the brand new Miami Improv. I had the pleasure of working with legends in the comedy game who were very humble and hilarious men. Starting off with Miami local legend Kyle Grooms, who hosted the show, has featured on hit tv shows such as the Chappelle Show and others. I have worked with Kyle many of times all over south florida. Brooklyn Mike is another veteran comedian who has headlined here in Miami before in which I was his featured comic. Last but certainly not least is Dean Edwards. Not only an established stand up comedian, but also a former cast member on Saturday Night Live. Such a great yet professional performance these comedians put on and what a time the audience had watching them. I also had the pleasure to work with my brothers and local comedians Aaron James and Comedian JJ who also killed the stage that night. This was an electrifying night and definitely one i will never forget.
I am a stand up comedian living in the great city of Miami, FL. Miami is a city that is full of adventure as well as culture. There are beaches, yachts, jet skis, bars, night clubs, roof top bars, and of course strip clubs; but one thing that Miami lacks is comedy clubs. While there is a comedy scene in south Florida, there is not a large one in Miami in particular, which results in the lack of actual comedy clubs. As a result we are forced to perform in dive bars and small night clubs. Prior to the brand new Miami Improv (City Place Doral) arriving, the nearest comedy club that existed was the West Palm Beach Improv which is about an hour or so drive for any Miami comedian. The Miami Improv is a beautiful venue but it is not accessible for comedians to constantly perform or workout new material. In addition to the lack of comedy clubs, Miami has a strong night life presence, full of partying, drinking, and energy which raises the level of difficulty to produce solid comedy shows. People of Miami, especially tourist, don’t care much to sit down and watch performers stand on stage and chase their dreams. They prefer to chase an adrenaline rush and make memories. So as a entertainer who performs stand up comedy for a living here in Miami, I stand in support of all comedians in south Florida and I STRONGLY encourage all citizens and visitors of Miami to visit a local comedy show. You’d be surprised at the level of talent that exist here! A great place to start would be www.miamicomedy.com; owned and operated by Manny Garavito.
